DIT Collective at Norwich Vegan Festival 2017

Monday, June 5th, 2017

Talk can be found at our Archive.org page

A couple of weeks ago we gave a talk at the Norwich Vegan Festival about anarchism and anti-authoritarian politics within veganism. Given the explosion of vegan consumerism in the UK today – and especially in Norwich, where there seems to be a new vegan joint opening every couple of months right now – it is important to remember that veganism has grown from fertile radical soil, where it strengthened and was strengthened by radical anti-authoritarianism. In this talk we look at some of the ways that veganism connects with other radical politics such as ecology, feminism, and class struggle.

Movement for Justice @ UEA

Tuesday, November 22nd, 2016

We just uploaded a talk from Movement for Justice that was given at the UEA last week. Listen to find out more about what they do, how they help women caged in Yarl’s Wood detention centre (including a personal account from Aisha, who had spent time inside the place), and what can be done to support their actions.

Apologies for the low quality of the audio. We’ll try and get better at recording these things!

A link to the recording can be found at our Audio Archive page.

Discussion Group

Friday, April 1st, 2016

We are looking to start regular group discussions centering on topics including anarchy, animal liberation, non-TERFy radical feminism, decolonialisation, etc. Our first one will be next week but we hope to hold something roughly once a month after that.

If you are interested in participating either next week or in the future, please send us an email or send us a message on everyone’s favourite self-administered panopticon, Facebook.

Norwich to Yarl’s Wood – 12th March

Saturday, March 5th, 2016

We might be organising a car or two to drive to the Surround Yarl’s Wood demo organised by Movement For Justice By Any Means Necessary. Please contact us if you are interested in coming along.

The MFJ, and our friends and allies around the country organising for justice and equality and fighting racism, we have been breaching the walls and fences of detention centres, reaching inside with chants of FREEDOM. Our detainees friends, partners in struggle, though locked up have made their voices ring out.
